During the study day we looked at various aspects of the local vernacular furniture. Here is a range of Victorian chairs made from apple wood and ash mainly. The two outside ones are believed to be Appleby chairs made by Thomas Groves, or possibly his son. The central chair I believe is one made by Henry Horne of Kendal.
